Art Psychotherapy
Art Therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy which uses the visual arts (drawing, painting, sculpture etc.) to help a person process thoughts and feelings, and emotions with or without using words. It is a Psychotherapy like talk; instead of using only language the art therapist will work with your creations, stories and meanings to learn what is most important to you.
Counselling & Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy (psychological counselling & therapy, Art Therapy, CBT & EMDR) is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behavior and overcome problems in desired ways.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR = EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing and is a safe and effective therapy for trauma and other types of emotional distress. When traumatic events are not processed (or not processed properly), they become “preserved memories” and can be easily triggered by everyday sensations – sights, smells, tastes, touch, sounds and emotions. Highly trained practitioners use EMDR to retrain the brain and process these memories in a safe way using eye movements, tapping or sounds. Typically, EMDR requires fewer sessions than conventional type therapies, resulting in dramatic, positive change.
EMDR therapy is a great option for:
• PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)
• Emotional distress
• Panic disorders
• Stuck grief
• Addictions
• Obsessive compulsive disorder
• Depression and anxiety
Osteopathy | Osteopathic Manual Therapy
Osteopathy is a form of natural medicine that treats your body as a single functioning unit. Osteopathy is a branch of alternative medical manual therapy.
Osteopathy assesses and treats movement restrictions in your body tissues that prevent you from being healthy and fit. It is unique because it focuses on the root cause of pain and dysfunction rather than simply masking the symptoms.
Play Therapy - Social Work
Play Therapy is a form of therapeutic Psychotherapy that uses play to help individuals express their emotions, process experiences, and develop coping mechanisms. It provides a safe and supportive environment where families, adults and children can explore their thoughts and feelings through toys, games, and creative activities. This method is particularly effective for young children who may have difficulty articulating their emotions verbally.
Registered Massage Therapy
A branch of medical practice that emphasizes the treatment of medical disorders through the manipulation and massage of the bones, joints, and muscles.
Naturotherapy
Naturotherapy uses distinct methods of non-invasive assessments and health care to address a persons symptoms and diagnosis’ aiming to locate and address the root cause.
Naturotherapy may include the use of foods, extracts, vitamins, minerals, botanical substances, homeopathic preparations, or physical non-manipulative bodywork (such as Reiki, or Subtle Influence Medicine) and exercise to help stimulate and maintain the individual's self-healing processes. Naturotherapy is an effective, non invasive, approach to health and aims to bring the entire person into balance creating the right condition for the body to heal and maintain itself.

If you’re here, you’ve already done one of the hardest things — you’ve decided that you wanna do the work! Wicked. Now, you might be thinking that all that talking seems pretty intimidating, and to that I say — I bet you’ve got a juicy story to tell, and I wanna hear it.
Think about a movie or a play — what character are you? Figuring out who you are and how you behave is a big part of being in relationships — because those things affect other people. What role do you play, and how do your feelings and actions work to move the story forward? Look around and see the people who are your helpers, your cheerleaders, and your villains.
I ask you to consider what it would be like to be uncomfortable in a moment — to do or say the hard thing — and this is why we call therapy work! This is why your therapist isn’t your friend. They have to be able to name the hard thing. They have to be able to show you your growth edges — those moments where you do the hard thing, and you lean into the resistance to it, instead of running away from it. That’s where growth comes from!
Yes, these things are hard — but they don’t have to suck. It’s all about relationships — to yourself, to your friends and family, to your partner(s). What brings you joy? Where are your pleasures in life? What makes you feel intimate in your relationships? Those questions add some complex dynamics. Sex. Intimacy. Pleasure. Those are part of your lived experience too! So why can’t you use art to explore them?
The mashing together of art therapy and sex therapy gives us another language to explore your role in the story. It helps you find the juicy bits! The fun stuff.
So — what story are we gonna start with? Looking forward to it. Heidi
Cheers, Heidi

Choose your Naturotherapy Session
Naturotherapy is not a single modality. You are a unique individual and therefore deserve that customized session of Naturotherapy and its many offerings for care.
Suddenly, mysteriously, or accumulating over time, physical and emotional events create a dis-ease due to imbalance, or lack of harmony within our Self & cells, encompassing our physical self and our emotional self. All parts of us must be addressed to facilitate the change(s) needed and to learn how best to care for ourselves. This is whole healing.
Naturotherapy
An excellent place to begin.
Combined with naturopathic care, Biofield (energy) practices use hands on healing to restore the full energetic function of the bodies systems, via the autonomic nervous system and etheric bodies, allowing for optimal physical and emotional wellness.
A naturotherapy session seeks to find the cause of the cause of the cause of your symptoms or diagnosis’. Yup, it’s backwards thinking and working to unpeel all that has gathered since day one. This includes naturopathy style care, Subtle Influence medicine, intuition and Reiki. Jacqueline will address energetically, emotionally and physically to discern, harmonize and calm, creating the space and conditions for your body and/or spirit to guide as to where some energetic shifts or lifestyle changes might need to be considered. Harmonization can happen energetically, or physically; either or both may be needed.
This type of session will not interfere with your current care choices. It may empower you to begin asking more questions.
Live Cell Microscopy & Analysis
A Live Cell Analysis is an exploration of your blood (using just a drop!) which will reflect the conditions of your body’s emotional and physical health. This will offer a clear visual of what different stressors and imbalances might be present and where they are causing concern.
Be sure to note that there is necessary preparation to be done prior to this session (ex: fasting).

(He/Him/His)
Ph.D., D.Sc.O., BCDMO, D.O.(M.P.)
Main Clinical Focus:
- Respiratory/Circulatory Health (my thesis work)
- Pelvic Health, Prenatal/Postnatal & Hormones
- Athletic Osteopathy
I have a niche focus of treating pressure gradients of the body and balancing out fluidic environments (respiration/circulation/lymph). This includes working on the three major diaphragms of the body (Thoracic Diaphragm, Pelvic Diaphragm and the Cranial Diaphragm (Tentorium) in relationship to the blood vessels and lymphatic system. I also really enjoy treating athletes and those who are on a health journey, who like me, had lost hope in having any quality of life. It is my ambition and passion that through applying the science of Osteopathy, I will be able to help people have HOPE once again while improving their health and improving their performance.
Bio:
Growing up, I worked hard and played hard. This lead to multiple sports injuries to include 9 concussions, multiple broken bones, and a weakened immune system including 30% lung damage. The straw the broke the camel’s back was when I broke my right femur (large thigh bone) while I was in the United States Marine Corps.
Breaking my femur lead to 6 years of physio, registered massage and chiropractic treatments. Although all of them had some benefit to my recovery, I was never getting completely better. In fact, I was told by my medical doctor that I would probably never be able to walk well - let alone run or play any sports again.
In 2012, my wife introduced me to an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner named Rob Hufgart D.O.M.P., RMT. After 4 treatments, I was running again, playing sports and even able to do CrossFit again without modifying workouts. (And in case you didn’t know, CrossFit is crazy and all of us who do it are a little crazy. But that’s a side note.) To make it even better, my lung capacity was retested and I’m back to 100%. Rob Hufgart’s treatments made me realize that I had hope again.
This lead me on a journey as a lifelong learning with major milestones including founding Aligned Health in 2014, becoming licensed in Osteopathic Manual Therapy in 2017 and completing my Ph.D. in 2024. It is my life goal, to give others the “second chance hope” I was given through the art and science of Manual Osteopathy.
I look forward to working with you.

Student Art Therapist
Hey — I’m Shirley!
I’m an art therapist completing my training to be a registered psychotherapist. That means that even if putting words to your struggle is hard, we’ve got other methods of communicating which can be really helpful when working through tough stuff.
I love working with all kinds of people who are looking to manage hard things, but especially people who have immigrated to Canada, are in the queer community, or have lived the caregiver role.
Immigration is tough and finding a community again is important — so is getting the support you need to function at your best.
Being queer, especially if you’re also an immigrant, can make finding that community feel even more complex.
Functioning as a caregiver to someone in your life is a whole new experience for a lot of us. It could be an aging parent, an ailing spouse, developmentally complex kids — or just kids in general.
Connecting people with themselves and their newfound communities, navigating changes to your identity, and steering through caregiver burnout are all things I’m really good at, so if you’re reading any of this and thinking, “Hey, that sounds like me!”, then book a 15-minute consultation to see if I’m the right fit for you. I’m looking forward to it!
